Born and raised in Hamilton, Matt completed an Honours Bachelor of Arts (Hons. B.A.) at McMaster University in 2004. He then graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Windsor in 2008 (LLB) before returning home to article with Sullivan Festeryga LLP. He was called to the Bar in 2009 and has been a partner since 2017.

Matt practices primarily civil litigation with a focus on all aspects of insurance defence and personal injury law. He is a natural problem solver, determined to provide comprehensive and cost-effective representation to his clients, including large companies and individuals. He works diligently to achieve measurable results through traditional and alternative means. He has appeared at numerous tribunal hearings, motions, pre-trials, and trials throughout Ontario, as well as at various forms of alternative dispute resolution such as mediation.

Matt is an active member of the Hamilton Law Association, Hamilton Medical-Legal Society, Hamilton Lawyers’ Club and Canadian Defence Lawyers.

Outside of the office, Matt is a prior volunteer with the Hamilton Police Service. He has also been on the Board of Directors of Ancaster Community Services since 2016; a not-for-profit organization that provides services and programs to residents of the community.

Matt is an avid sports fan, enjoys traveling with his family and keeping active outdoors.
