Nadine Zarour is a Juris Doctor Graduate at the University of Windsor Faculty of Law, graduating in 2025. Her legal education and career interests center on public interest law, human rights, and administrative justice, with a focus on client-centered and trauma-informed practice.
During law school, Nadine gained significant experience in legal clinics and academic research. At the Mental Health Justice Clinic, she managed over 15 client files, prepared legal memoranda, conducted intakes, and appeared before the Landlord and Tenant Board, advocating for individuals navigating both housing and mental health challenges. Through Pro Bono Students Canada, she supported refugee claimants seeking to remain in Canada on Humanitarian and Compassionate grounds, co-developing a step-by-step resource guide on the process.
Nadine also served as a research assistant to four faculty members, working on projects involving disability law, employment law, legal ethics, and systemic discrimination. Her work has contributed to submissions to the Council of Canadians with Disabilities, the development of academic publications, and the design of legal course materials.
Beyond the classroom, Nadine completed a legal externship at the Sugar Law Center for Economic & Social Justice in Detroit, where she supported low-income clients in employment-related matters and contributed to a labor arbitration case. She also worked with the Ontario Human Rights Commission, assisting the Interim Chief Commissioner on a research project focused on public interest intervention and systemic discrimination in Canadian litigation.
Before law school, Nadine earned her Honours BA in Political Science from McMaster University and completed a Business Studies Certificate jointly offered by McMaster and Mohawk College. As an undergraduate student, she volunteered with several community organizations supporting newcomers to Canada, including the Together Project, Immigrants Working Centre, and New Horizons Thrift Store. She provided Arabic-English interpretation, taught digital literacy, and led employment-readiness sessions.
In addition to her legal training, Nadine brings a background in entrepreneurship and small business management. She co-founded and ran Drizzle My Berries, a custom dessert business, and managed operations at her family’s retail business, where she led hiring, training, and marketing initiatives while navigating evolving e-cigarette regulations at all levels of government.
At Windsor Law, Nadine served as Co-President of the Middle Eastern Law Students’ Association, and participated in several student-led legal initiatives focused on equity, employment rights, and reproductive justice.
Born and raised in Hamilton, Nadine maintains strong ties to her local community. She is a dedicated member of Our Lady of the Assumption Melkite Catholic Church, where she co-founded and co-leads a young adults group focused on faith, service, and cultural connection. She has helped coordinate national youth conventions and led outreach efforts to support local faith-based programming.
Fluent in English and Arabic, Nadine brings a multidimensional perspective to the practice of law, shaped by hands-on community work, rigorous legal training, and real-world business experience. She is particularly drawn to human rights, administrative, and employment law, and is dedicated to practicing with empathy, curiosity, and integrity.
