Rachael joined Sullivan Festeryga LLP as an Associate in 2022 after completing her articling requirement at a boutique civil litigation firm in Toronto. She obtained her BA (Hons) in Political Science from Queen’s University and her JD from the University of Windsor Law School.

Rachael’s practice is focused on civil litigation and, more particularly, on insurance defence and estate law. She is experienced in dealing with capacity issues including substitute decision makers and powers of attorney, with wills/testamentary challenges, and with contractual disputes, general civil litigation, and civil fraud. Rachael is committed to providing accessible legal services and takes pride in ensuring her clients are well prepared, well informed, and that they understand the process at each stage throughout the course of litigation. She knows that a lawsuit can be stressful, but also that a good lawyer makes it much less so. An advocate to her core, Rachael is committed to advancing the interests of minority and marginalized individuals and communities and ensuring that access to justice is not just a right we all have in theory, but in practice as well.

Outside of work, Rachael has a passion for reading classic literature, romance novels, and feminist literature, and she probably has a book from each genre on the go. When she’s not at home reading, she’s most likely to be found at the gym, a hockey rink, or joining her dog and partner on family walks.
